In the 1950s, Arkansas was resisting desegregation through its own state legislations even though desegregation was mandated by the United States Supreme Court. Cooper V. Aaron is the landmark case that brought an end to Arkansas’s resistance to desegregation, and established that no state can overrule the United States Supreme Court’s decisions regarding cases. |
